The Scorpio Illusion by Robert Ludlum is a must read. The story is based on deception, navy intelligence and terrorism. One can produce a nice blockbuster of a movie. I am amazed by the story narating skill exhibited by Robert Ludlum. It made me read all night long till i finished it.
The story revolves around an Naval intelligence officer. He is known for his brilliance in the intelligence circle. His lovely wife gets murdered because of a incorrect factual analysis by Navy intelligence. This makes the Navy officer enraged. He promises not to serve the navy ever and quits his job. He starts his own carter business. He goes into depression and starts boozing. A beautiful lovely lady enters his life. She makes him feel very special and they both start loving each other. One day she disappears making him realize that his over indulgence with alcohol did him in. The story takes a turn here.
Two of his old friends visit him. He gets briefed about the eventual terrorist act destroying the political leadership of many countries including one of his over a short period of time, leaving a political vaccum. He gets recruited by MI-6 and all the action starts from here.
The rest of the story involves the deception and corruption at the highest level. I would suggest you to get the book and start reading it. You can always borrow my book
