Prarage - My Rage

There have been a lot of remake movies in the recent times. It looks like a trend. But people who are making it don’t understand that it’s a bad idea. Why would it be a bad idea? The producer can make money with a proven idea and the director doesn’t have to sweat much as the script, dialogs etc are easily copied. It just lacks a basic definition for which Kannada movies stand, creativity. Have you seen Puttana kanagal movies? Those are the movies which were remade into other languages. I am not able to reason out why we need remakes? Probably there is a very good reason for it, but it some how escapes me.

E Bandhana is a remake of Baghbaan - Hindi. There are few extra scenes that are missing in the Kannada movie. It had already started when I sat down to watch the movie. I thought this movie could have been made better. I felt there were few missing elements like a few more interesting scenes could have been added. It could have been made more flowing with the theme of the movie. It all seemed like the movie was made with the minimum budget and few of the brands were endorsed. I felt it was made with an intention of making money. The other irritation in the movie was the songs. At one phase of the movie, there seemed like 3 songs were played within a short duration. When i meant short it was around 2 mins or so. The songs were also not vocalized properly. I could literary feel the low pitch from the female singer for more than 3 occasion in the movie. It was also of a not so good lyrics. There were few big names in the movie. Over all the movie was a pathetic watch for me. Please note that its all my personal view.

I wouldn’t remember watching this movie as I would with Baghbaan. It’s nicely made and you will not regret watching it once. I would like to reiterate that remakes are bad for the industry and will be of short term gain. Now with few good movies there are people watching Kannada movies, please don’t drive them away with remakes!
