Next time you visit Landmark, watch out for the difference in price for the same novel. I found it very interesting. I was browsing through Robert Ludlum’s novels when I accidentally found that there were price differences in the same book rack. There were two differently bound books with the same title. Also that the books were different in color also. I was curious and wanted to know the difference. I thought to myself ofcourse there will be,
- The book printing was a major take away. The cover page was a major one as pointed out by Sharath.
- The print quality was also a factor.
Lower priced books were all printed in US by Bantam Books where as the higher priced ones were printed in Britain by Orion. Apart from this, Bantam books has a antique look where as the Orion books look more modern.
In my case I wasn’t concern about the quality of book and went with the antique look and brought the Bantam books. Probably I can auction them as antique books after few year down the line
